District 19 Meeting , 21 May 2006**
The meeting started at 3:25 p.m. with the Serenity Prayer, introductions, reading of the 5th Tradition, Concept 5 and the Preamble. New G.S.R. is Effren V., Roundtable Meeting and Linda I., Alternate for Sunday Campfire Meeting. Visitors were Floyd and Randy from Barstow. Minutes from the previous meeting were read and accepted. Treasure/Finance: Previous balance was $1,915.12. Paid $62.00 for P.O. Box, received $5.80 from Phelan Sober, $20.00, $20.00 7th Traditions, minus $12.00 for rent and $800.00 for D.C.M.C. travel and lodging to the Regional Forum for a balance of $1,074.92

Concept/Tradition: Joe read on Concept 5.

DCMC: Bruce H, our Mid-Southern California area 09 Delegate provided us with the delegates report on the General Service Conference. The 57th Panel (2007) will have 2 designated observers from Australia & Japan. La Vina celebrated its 10th Anniversary, in April. AAWS researched moving from N.Y. to Dallas, or Los Angeles. These considerations were not well received. PRAASA 2007 will be held in Oakland CA. The theme for the 2007 GSC is” Our 12th Step Responsibility-Are We Going to Any Length?” C.P.C. has short videos on A.A. web site. Literature – approved drafts of revised pamphlets, “Too Young” and “It Happened to Alice.” Working to replace videos for young people- “Young People and A.A. and “A.A., Rap with Us.” need suggestions.

Finance committee is requesting development of an Intergroup/Central Office pamphlet, tabled for future discussion.

Treatment Facilities – Workbook revisions and additions completed and on advisory.

Q & A- What’s the difference between a class A and class B Trustee? A = non-alcoholic and B = is alcoholic. How did the International Convention fare financially? Bruce stated that it broke even.

Finance –. We are very grateful for your continued support. Contributions to district are made out to District 19, PO Box 2702, Victorville CA 92393. Please remember to write your group service number or at a minimum the group name on the check.

Old Business- Discussed the possibility of sending the D.C.M.C. to the Pacific Region Forum Held June 23 to 25 in Seattle, Washington. The financial impact would be minimal. The G.S.R.s approved DCMC amount for attending regional forum.

Announcements – Next area meeting Sunday, 2-11-06, Cathedral City; District 19 every 3rd Sunday 3pm, V.V. Alano Club. Traditions volunteer, Jim, Concept and Linda I.
